Where appropriate, Solazyme also relies upon trade secrets, know-how, continuing technological innovations and licensing opportunities to develop and maintain its competitive position.
Solazyme’s growing portfolio comprises a number of patent applications in varying stages of prosecution. The applications are directed to novel genetic engineering methods, assays, and gene and protein sequences to evolve microbes to perform desired biochemical functions.
